What is your level?
The test consista of 6 different levels under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:
Elementary Level (TEL/A1)
Basic Level (TBL/A2)
The 1st Certification Level (TORFL-I/B1)
The 2nd Certification Level (TORFL-II/В2)
The 3rd Certification Level (TORFL-III/C1)
The 4th Certification Level (TORFL-IV/C2)
Upon successfully completing the test, candidates will receive a certificate of proficiency from St. Petersburg State University. Certificates (except A1 level) have no expiry date and are internationally recognised.

Why would I need TORFL?
The TORFL is the only official qualification of Russian language proficiency according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, and is often required for admission to Russian universities, obtaining citizenship in the Russian Federation, and working in Russian companies.
Where will I take the test?
Registered candidates will take the TORFL at the Russian Language Center (RLC) in Singapore, St. Petersburg State University’s official partner in Singapore. The RLC will administer the test, and the oral component will be conducted on Skype with an examiner from St. Petersburg State University. Completed tests will then be sent to St. Petersburg State University for grading; certificates will be sent to the RLC for distribution to candidates within 3 weeks.

What happens if I fail the test?
Candidates who do not pass the test will receive an inquiry with results that are valid for 2 years. If candidates fail only one or two subtests, they may retake the two subtests (candidates will still have to pay the full registration fee). If candidates fail more than two subtests, they will have to retake the full test.
What does the test look like?
The test comprises five parts:
Speaking
This includes a range of oral tasks, depending on the level. They could include providing responses to fixed dialogues, initiating dialogues in prescribed situations, summarising a text, or talking on a prepared topic.
Reading
Writing
Listening
Grammar and Vocabulary
Depending on the level, each subtest lasts between 30 and 80 minutes. Total duration can be anywhere from 3.5 to 4.5 hours. To receive the certificate corresponding to the level that you have chosen, you must obtain a score of 66% or more in every section.
